Aztec/ Mexica goddess Coatlicue with Wooden Background

Printed on Epson Somerset Velvet Archival Paper 255gsm

About the Goddess:

Coatlicue, whose name translates to "Skirt of Serpents" was mother of Huitzilopochtli, the god of war and the sun. After she became impregnated with him, her other children believing her to have committed adultery became angry and decided to kill her in retaliation. Huitzilopochtli burst from her womb fully grown and armored to his mother but not before she was beheaded. She is considered both a giver and consumer of life.
