Mictēcacihuātl - the Mexica goddess of death and the underworld. She swallows the stars every night to give us the day and watches over the bones of the dead with her husband Mictlantecuhtli.
The concept of dualism is the basis for the majority of Nahua philosophy and spiritualism. Death was not seen through the lens of linear time with a finite ending but rather a part of life itself within an endless cycle. One. cannot exist without the other.
